The Manufacturing Support Technician plays a key role in supporting daily machine shop operations by ensuring equipment, materials, and workspaces are maintained in a clean, organized, and efficient manner. This position assists machinists and manufacturing leadership with production support tasks, preventative maintenance activities, and general shop upkeep.
As the primary maintenance support team member, this role works closely with manufacturing leadership to help ensure equipment remains operational, the shop environment is well maintained, and production needs are supported in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
- Empty chip bins and scrap containers from machines
- Fill coolant tanks and monitor coolant levels
- Cutting material and staging as needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the shop
- Clean and wash completed machined parts according to specifications
- Deburr parts as needed to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist machinists with machine operation as needed
- Support machine setup activities when requested
- Assist with basic machine repairs and troubleshooting
- Transport materials, parts, and supplies within the facility
- Run company errands as needed to support shop operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and work areas
- Support manufacturing leadership with shop priorities and operational needs
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Fill way oil reservoirs on all machines
- Empty skimmer oil containers on each machine
- Sweep floors and operate shop floor cleaning equipment (Zamboni or similar)
- Grease chucks on lathes according to maintenance schedule
- Perform routine visual inspections of equipment for cleanliness and proper function
- Change air filters on machines
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks
- Support general shop organization and deep cleaning projects
- Provide general maintenance support across shop equipment and facility needs
- Assist manufacturing leadership in identifying maintenance priorities
- Report equipment issues or repair needs promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the shop
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Valid driver’s license required
- Mechanical aptitude or interest in manufacturing preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs periodically
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from leadership
- Basic knowledge of hand tools preferred
While direct machine shop experience is not required, candidates with the following background may be especially successful in this role:
- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, shop, or industrial environment
- Experience performing basic maintenance or mechanical tasks
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic repair work
- Experience supporting production teams or equipment upkeep
- Exposure to CNC machines, lathes, mills, or metal fabrication environments
- Experience performing preventative maintenance tasks
- Background in automotive repair, small engine repair, construction, or skilled trades
- Experience operating floor cleaning equipment or industrial cleaning tools
- Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Manufacturing and machine shop environment
- Exposure to moving machinery, coolants, oils, and metal materials
- Standing and walking for extended periods may be required
- Occasional lifting, bending, and reaching required
